When Chanel opened a pop-up beauty boutique in Covent Garden, it was such a success they made it permanent. And for the next few days, the fashion brand are opening a flower stall in Covent Garden Market – and just in time for Mother’s Day. All of the flowers on offer feature in the brand’s signature scents. If you buy 100ml of one of Chanel’s perfumes, they will give you a hand-tied posy with a personalized message handwritten by a Chanel calligrapher on a camellia-embossed card. The stall is open from March 8 to March 10.

Theory of Colours, with excerpts from Luminary Colour
How are we affected by colors? From mood and health to fashion
and decor – ELLE map the color spectrum influence of Goethe
to Pantone and see what colors the world to be painted in now.

“Anna Starmer (Annastarmer.com), color consultant
in the fashion and interiors industry with clients such as
Ikea and Hugo Boss, explains forecasting further: “Instead
of changing a colour scheme dramatically every six months, today’s color trends are developed
gradually. For example, gray has been on trend for seven years because
it has the potential to develop in our homes and wardrobes. We can
recycle a coat from last year and update it with a bright
yellow scarf and can keep the gray walls in the living room by updating
textiles or accessories to create a new look. Grey is a
single base to build many new stories on. ”
“Anna Starmer goes further to paint an overall picture
of the colors we are going to yearn for in spring summer 2013. The trend
‘Summerhouse’, is about foggy gray, weathered lichen and pale lavender plum.
Whilst in summer, ‘sun-baked earth’ is rich and saturated
with spiced tones of paprika and terracotta, moving upwards
with the more uplifting shades of pomegranate and bougainvillea. ”
Wel it seems, as experts say, then, we have pretty colorful
times to look forward to.
